Velacomm introduces VAI, standards-based trust infrastructure for AI, supply chains and commerce
WILMINGTON, Del., October 18, 2026 — Velacomm Inc. today introduced VAI (Velacomm Artificial Intelligence), trust infrastructure built from the hardware up to verify the devices, data, shipments, payments and parties behind modern commerce.
VAI combines Velacomm’s patented self-authenticating chip technology with a secure network, applied AI and open standards. The platform is designed for six areas where trust matters most: defense, data, AI data centers, trade and supply chain, finance, and government.
“Most AI runs on someone else’s infrastructure and assumes the hardware and data beneath it can be trusted,” said a Velacomm spokesperson. “VAI builds that trust into the silicon, the network and the intelligence itself.”
VAI is designed around the goals of Pax Silica, the U.S. State Department initiative for secure supply chains in semiconductors, AI, critical minerals, energy and logistics. Velacomm is not a party to Pax Silica and is not endorsed by any government.
Velacomm is also establishing an independent non-profit standards foundation to support research, education and interoperable standards.
